The ballistic shield can be considered a dynamic, portable ballistic corner that can be placed anywhere between the threat and law enforcement personnel, thus allowing the “good guys” to safely maneuver into a position of advantage to neutralize the threat(s). The bunker has traditionally been taught to be deployed in a slow, thorough and methodical, defensive tempo. This course was designed to avoid any form of a defensive mindset. It has been constructed with the primary focus on the offensive capabilities of the ballistic shield. The attendee will learn to effectively and efficiently deploy ballistic shields to distract, isolate, and ultimately neutralize any type of threat. This is by far the most cutting-edge and reality-based proven instruction regarding ballistic shield deployments.

This operator level course is developed, designed, and constructed with content and criteria to form the foundational skills and principles of becoming a skilled ballistic shield operator. The attendee will receive and be exposed to the following: • Power-point presentation and lecture • Criteria for selecting a shield operator, leadership of shield team(s), and team set-up • Utilization of Level IIIA, III+, and Level IV ballistic shields/rolling shields • Utilization of Level IIIA ballistic blankets (deployments and rescues) • Deployment strategies, techniques and principles for the ballistic shield, in both methodical and dynamic applications • Barricaded situations, downed-individual rescues, vehicle assaults, and more • Stairwell movement (ascending and descending) • Low-Light applications and strategies (brief introduction) • Introduction to pistol-mounted observable laser utilization • Large venue assault
